Actor Ryu Jun-yeol caddied for golfer Kim Joo-hyung [Tom Kim] at the Masters Par 3 Contest on April 10, 2024, at the prestigious Augusta National Golf Club in Augusta, Georgia. The Par 3 Contest is an annual event held the Wednesday before the Masters tournament, where players invite family and friends to serve as caddies.
Ryu Jun-yeol, an avid golfer himself, is friends with Kim through their church. He donned the Masters’ signature white caddie uniform and green hat to carry Kim’s clubs and offer advice on shots.
In addition to caddying, Ryu Jun-yeol even took a tee shot on the 9th hole, hitting a 130-yard shot for par after his first attempt landed in the water. Kim, who played alongside Scottie Scheffler and Sam Burns of the United States, later posted photos and a video of Ryu Jun-yeol’s shot on his social media account, writing, “Thanks for the great memories, Kim Joo-hyung.”
Ricky Fowler won this year’s Par 3 Contest with a 5-under-par score. Fowler, who was making his first Par 3 Contest appearance since 2020, was joined by his wife and daughter for the event. Sepp Straka of Austria finished second with a 3-under-par score.
