South Korean Singer Park Bo-ram’s Cause of Death Confirmed as Acute Alcohol Poisoning.
Park Bo-ram, who died unexpectedly last month at the age of 30, succumbed to acute alcohol poisoning, according to a final autopsy report from the National Forensic Service (NFS).
Police Receive Final Autopsy Report
On May 23, the Southern Namyangju Police Department announced receiving the final autopsy results. The report stated that Park Bo-ram is “believed to have died of acute alcohol poisoning,” with no other contributing factors identified.
Park Bo-ram Battled Pre-Existing Health Issues
Authorities reported that Park Bo-ram suffered from poor health at the time of her death, including conditions like cirrhosis and fatty liver disease.
On April 11, at approximately 9:55 p.m., Park Bo-ram collapsed in the bathroom of an acquaintance’s residence in Namyangju, Gyeonggi Province. The incident occurred after she shared a bottle of soju with two female friends. The acquaintances discovered Park Bo-ram unconscious and immediately contacted emergency services.
Park Bo-ram was rushed to a nearby hospital but was pronounced dead about an hour later. Police ruled out foul play or suicide as contributing factors.
Initial Investigation and Further Examination
Following Park Bo-ram’s passing, law enforcement received an initial verbal report indicating “cause of death unknown” from a preliminary autopsy. To determine the exact cause of death, a detailed examination was requested from the National Forensic Service (NFS.)
