Seo Kang-joon’s return to television is finally here! MBC confirmed on June 10th that he will star in the upcoming Friday-Saturday drama “Undercover High School.” This marks his highly anticipated comeback after completing his military service last year.
Undercover Agent Meets High School Hijinks
The 12-episode drama promises a blend of action and comedy. It follows the story of Jeong Hae Sung (played by Seo Kang-joon), an elite NIS agent. Hae-sung’s impressive field agent career takes a turn when a major operational mishap leads to his demotion. However, redemption awaits him in the form of an undercover mission. Assigned to infiltrate a high school believed to be connected to the missing gold bullion of Emperor Gojong, Hae-sung will trade his suit and badge for a backpack and textbooks, experiencing a high school life unlike any he could have imagined.
“Undercover High School” marks Seo Kang-joon’s first MBC drama appearance in a decade since his role in “Splendid Politics.”
Writer Im Young-bin, known for his work on dramas like “Sketch,” and “Bad Prosecutor” takes the reins for the screenplay. Meanwhile, PD Choi Jeong-in, who helmed “Knight Flower,” and “On the Verge of Insanity” will be directing the drama.
Coming Soon in 2025
While the drama has secured its lead and creative team, fans will have to wait a bit longer for its premiere. “Undercover High School” is currently scheduled to air sometime next year.
