BTS’s Jin Completes 18 Months of Service, Receives Warm Welcome
Jin, the eldest member of the K-pop group BTS, was discharged from his mandatory military service on June 12th. After receiving applause from his fellow soldiers, Jin left the 5th Army Infantry Division’s new soldier training center in Yeoncheon, Gyeonggi Province, at 8:50 a.m. He was the first member of the group to enlist and has completed his 18-month service as an army sergeant.
Emotional Reunion with Bandmates
Members RM, J-Hope, V, Jungkook, and Jimin were present to celebrate Jin’s discharge, with the exception of Suga. They took leave from their respective camps to be there. RM, a member of the military band, played their hit song “Dynamite” on the saxophone to welcome Jin. Jin smiled brightly as he held the bouquet of flowers presented to him by his members.
Jin to Reunite with ARMY at “2024 Festa”
The following day, on June 13th, Jin will attend the offline event “2024 Festa” at the Jamsil Indoor Stadium in Songpa-gu, Seoul, to meet with ARMY (BTS’s fandom). He will hold a hug event in Part 1, in which he will hug 1,000 fans, and a communication session with fans in Part 2.

Looking Ahead: Group Activities and New Album
Jin is the first member of BTS to be discharged from military service. J-Hope, the second member to enlist, is scheduled to be discharged in October. BTS plans to resume full-group activities next year, including the release of a 10th anniversary album “The Most Beautiful Moment in Life” to coincide with the discharge of all members.
