Jang Nara, the leading actress of the drama Good Partner, took home the grand prize at the 2024 SBS Drama Awards held on December 21st at SBS Prism Tower, Sangam-dong, Mapo-gu, Seoul.
Upon receiving the award, Jang Nara expressed her gratitude, saying, “I feel like I’m experiencing all the amazing things in my life through SBS. Just like the title of the drama, I was able to touch this award thanks to my ‘good partners.’ I’m truly grateful.”
She continued, expressing her appreciation for her co-star Nam Ji-hyun, “Nam Ji-hyun was the pillar of the drama and my pillar. I could do a lot because of her. She was a lucky charm to me and our drama. Thank you so much.”
Jang Nara also thanked her family and her husband, cinematographer Jung Ha-cheol, saying, “He loves me no matter what I’m like.”
She also mentioned senior actress Kim Young-ok, saying, “I’ve been acting for over 20 years, but when I saw Kim Young-ok, I realized I still have a long way to go. I will work really hard.”
She concluded her acceptance speech by expressing her gratitude to her fans, saying, “I’m grateful to the viewers who have supported me for so long. Whether you like me or not, thank you for watching. I will continue to work hard. I want to remain a curious actress. Thank you very much.”
In Good Partner, Jang Nara played the role of Cha Eun-kyung, a star divorce lawyer. She captivated the audience with her cold gaze and charisma, which were different from her usual image.
In particular, Jang Nara’s portrayal of Cha Eun-kyung’s inner turmoil and wide range of emotions, as she experienced divorce herself, contributed to the drama’s success. Good Partner achieved the highest viewership rating for an SBS drama this year, with 18.7%.
