BLACKPINK Reunites After 11 Months
On August 9th, BLACKPINK celebrated its 8th anniversary and reunited as a full group after about 11 months apart. The members (Jennie, Jisoo, Rosé, and Lisa) attended the presentation for “BLACKPINK WORLD TOUR [BORN PINK] IN CINEMAS” at Times Square in Yeongdeungpo, Seoul, that afternoon. This was their first public appearance together since the Seoul finale of their world tour last September.
The members were all smiles as they signed autographs, took pictures with fans, and made eye contact. While taking a group photo, they held up eight fingers to celebrate their 8th anniversary.
Members Reflect on Their 8th Anniversary
During a follow-up interview, the members shared their feelings about their anniversary and excitement for the live-action film.
Jisoo said, “Since we debuted on August 8th at 8 p.m., the 8th anniversary feels even more significant. My affection for the fans who have supported us all this time has increased 800 times.“
Rosé added, “I heard that a fan who was an elementary school student at the time is now 20 years old, and I realized how time has flown. I watched the movie in advance, and it turned out really cool. I hope you enjoy it.“
Lisa expressed her hopes for the film, saying, “This is the first time we’ve been able to meet our fans in theaters, and I hope the emotions we felt at that time are conveyed to them.“
