South Korean actor Kim Won Shik, known for his roles in “True Beauty” and “Alchemy of Souls,” recently touched down at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport, much to the delight of his Filipino fans. This isn’t simply a visit; Won-shik considers the Philippines his “second motherland” after having lived and studied here for over six years. His mother and cousins still reside in the country, further strengthening his connection.
“I’ve been to many places here,” Won-shik shared in an interview with GMANetwork.com, “and I love them all. This feels like a “second home”. It’s always familiar when I come back, and it’s even more special because my mom and cousins are here. I feel a sense of comfort here, and I truly want to meet the people who support me.”
But beyond his personal connection, Won-shik is also making his mark in the Filipino entertainment scene. He recently starred in the Universal Records Philippines mini-series “Pag-Ibig Na Kaya” alongside Kapuso star Julie Anne San Jose, “Asawa ng Asawa Ko” actor Rayver Cruz, and Korean-German singer Yoon Jayden.
So impressed was he by San Jose’s talent that Won-shik expressed his desire to collaborate with her again, but this time on a musical project. “I know Julie Anne is a fantastic singer,” he said. “If Rayver allows, I’d love to do an acoustic music project with her.”
It seems Won-shik’s return to his “second motherland” is more than just a homecoming; it’s a chance to further connect with fans and potentially explore new creative avenues in the Filipino entertainment industry.
