Kwon Eun-bi, from a girl who dreamed of a second debut to a ‘Waterbomb Goddess’ and a building owner worth 2.4 billion won, has successfully turned her life around.
Kwon Eun-bi’s journey to success wasn’t a straight shot to the top. It’s a story many aspiring stars can relate to – one filled with hard work, determination, and a little bit of unexpected summer magic.
This talented singer recently made headlines for a new reason – becoming a building owner with a property valued at a cool 2.4 billion won. This impressive feat comes just over ten years after her debut in the K-Pop industry.
Kwon Eun-bi’s Early Struggles and Undying Dreams
Even before her official debut in 2014 with the girl group Ye-A, Kwon Eun-bi was already hustling behind the scenes. During her high school years, she honed her skills as a backup dancer for established acts like Secret and Girls’ Day. While performing under the stage name Kaju, she dreamt of taking center stage one day.
However, Ye-A’s success was short-lived, disbanding after a year and a half. Undeterred, Kwon Eun-bi joined Woollim Entertainment as a trainee. Here, she continued to refine her craft, backing up groups like Infinite and Lovelyz while patiently waiting for her second chance.
A Second Debut and Unexpected Success
The turning point came in 2018 when Kwon Eun-bi participated in the Mnet survival show “Produce 48.” This grueling competition offered trainees from Korea and Japan a chance to debut in a brand new girl group. With her unwavering dedication and talent, she secured a spot in the final lineup of IZ*ONE, even becoming the group’s leader.
IZ*ONE became a sensation in both Korea and Japan, captivating audiences with their catchy tunes and vibrant energy. However, the group’s contract only lasted for a little over two years, leading to their disbandment in 2021.
Kwon Eun-bi’s Solo Journey and the Rise of the “Waterbomb Goddess”
While many IZONE members went on to form new groups or pursue solo careers, Kwon Eun-bi embarked on her solo journey. While her solo debut was well-received, it couldn’t quite match the immense popularity of IZONE.
But then came 2022 and the release of her song “Underwater.” This summer anthem became a sleeper hit, propelling Kwon Eun-bi back into the spotlight. Her electrifying performance at the “Waterbomb” festival, drenched but dazzling, solidified her status as the “Waterbomb Goddess” and the undisputed “Summer Queen.”
Kwon Eun-bi was ranked first in invitations to various university festivals last year following “Waterbomb” and received a lot of love. She is also raising expectations by being included in the “Waterbomb” performance lineup this year.
