South Korean actress Park Min Young, known for her role in the hit drama “Marry My Husband,” has donated 100 million KRW (around ,74,983 USD) to the Seoul Asan Hospital Cancer Center.
Inspired by her character, who battles cancer in the drama, Park Min Young wanted to support real-life patients. She reportedly shed 37kg (81.43 lbs) to convincingly portray the role, gaining a deeper understanding of the struggles cancer patients face.
This isn’t Park Min Young’s first act of philanthropy. In 2022, she donated to wildfire relief efforts, and in 2019, she supported an animal protection organization.
Meanwhile, “Marry My Husband” follows a woman who gets a second chance at life after witnessing her husband’s betrayal. The drama is currently a ratings hit, with the latest episode reaching 10.5% viewership.
