Choi Hyun-wook, a popular South Korean actor, has apologized for his recent actions of smoking on the street and illegally dumping the cigarette butt.
On October 5, 2023, Choi Hyun-wook released a handwritten apology through his agency, Gold Medalist. He wrote, “First of all, I would like to apologize for disappointing my fans. Although I should approach every moment with responsibility, I have disappointed many people with my careless behavior.”
He apologized to everyone who has been affected by his actions, including the drama director, writer, staff, actors, and other people who are working with him.
He continued, “I will humbly accept the criticism and advice you have sent me and reflect on myself,” adding, “I will work hard to show a more mature side in the future.”
The apology came after a video containing Choi Hyun-wook’s daily life was uploaded to YouTube and online communities. In the video, Choi Hyun-wook is seen smoking while holding the hand of one of the women and throwing away the cigarette butt on the street.
Choi Hyun-wook is currently appearing as the main character Lee Chan in the tvN Monday-Tuesday drama ‘Twinkle Watermelon’. He played the role of Moon Ji-woong in the popular drama ‘Twenty-Five and Twenty-One’ that aired last year.
