“Cheng Jia” Plot Overview
In “Cheng Jia,” Qin Tianyue (played by Qin Lan) takes on the role of a manager at a newly acquired subsidiary of Qianshou Network.” With her engineering background, she is enthusiastic about using big data to help clients find their ideal partners through a fast-paced “speed dating” method. Initially, the employees, including Feng Qingming, Cheng Xu (played by Xia Zhi Guang), Xia Wanqing (played by Zhao Zi Qi), and Ye Lang (played by Tian Lei), tolerate Qin Tianyue’s forceful style and her loyal assistant Li Lefan (played by Bu Guan Jin) with frustration. However, they eventually start to value each other’s viewpoints and form a “Cupid Squad” to explore the true meaning of happiness together.
The series explores the confusion, growth, and changes that people go through while seeking love and marriage. “Cheng Jia” not only shows the differences between big data matchmaking and a more gradual approach to relationships but also gives a sensitive look at the various challenges faced by modern daters.
