Agency Reaches Out to Accuser, Requests Meeting
On April 1st, KINGKONG by STARSHIP, the agency of actress Song Ha-yoon, released an official statement denying the allegations of school bullying against her.
The agency stated, “After verifying the facts with the accuser’s claims, we have confirmed that the actress has never met the accuser and that all of the content is false.“
King Kong by Starship further explained their actions, “We recognized the seriousness of this matter and contacted the accuser to verify the facts after receiving the initial report. We then requested a meeting through a messenger to accurately verify the facts, but the accuser refused and did not respond to our subsequent call requests.“
Accusation Stems from JTBC affairs Program
Earlier on the same day, JTBC’s affairs program “Scandal Supervisor (Hangul: 사건반장; RR: sagonbanjang; lit. Case Chief)” reported that it had received an allegation of school bullying against actress “S“, who has recently gained attention for her villainous role. The accuser, identified as “A“, claimed that they were “subjected to an hour and a half of silent violence by Song Ha-yoon while they were in high school.”
Although “Scandal Supervisor” did not reveal S’s real name, it used footage that could identify the actress and described her as “an actress who has been active with her villainous roles.” As a result, netizens speculated that the actress in question was Song Ha-yoon, who recently played the villainous character Jung Soo-min in the tvN drama “Marry My Husband.”
King Kong by Starship Refutes Claims, Calls for Responsible Reporting
King Kong by Starship reportedly told “Scandal Supervisor” that the actress “has no recollection of committing school bullying.”
The agency emphasized, “Currently, indiscriminate speculation and presumptive content are being spread based on the accuser’s one-sided claims. We earnestly request that you refrain from reporting unconfirmed facts and presumptive information.”
